Мicroscopic endodontics
The complications which are caused by untreated tooth decay and trauma are pulpitis and periodontitis. This infection requires treatment of the root canals (endodontic treatment). In these cases, we use magnification (Zeiss microscope) which helps us provide a higher percentage of the successful treatments.
How is the endodontic treatment performed?
The root canal treatment can be done in one, two or more appointments. It depends on the diagnosis and the symptoms of the patients.
In short, this endodontic treatment includes mechanical and chemical cleaning, removal of any remaining bacteria and nerve canal contents. Then the root canal is filled up and the tooth is sealed with a filling or an indirect restoration. We always use isolation (so-called rubber dam) and magnification. Root canal treatment is not painful and can save the infected tooth.
